Peacock Salt and DCP Direct Ltd are pleased to announce the formation of their Joint Venture known as ‘Pro Food Ingredients’.

This division of Peacock salt will offer an increased range of products and services to the existing customer base complimented by the sales/administrative infrastructure, central warehousing & distribution, re-pack and blending facilities in Ayr.

David Crosthwaite (DCP Direct) returned to Scotland in 2004 following twenty years in the international procurement, supply chain management and global sales of a variety of commodity
raw materials and speciality ingredients to the food, beverage, flavour and fragrance industries.

He served as president of the International General Produce Association 2000/2001. DCP Direct has already made a significant impact within the Scottish marketplace and will bring a variety of manufacturers/direct sourcing and agencies ‘direct’ to Profood including:

Essential/Citrus/Spice Oils
All grades, ‘pure and natural’, folded, terpeneless and tailor made blends

Flavourings
A range of natural and nature identical lines in liquid (water and oil soluble) and powder (dry blend/ spray dry) forms

Food Chemicals
Acidulants, antioxidants, preservatives, sweeteners, vitamins

Food Colours
For all applications including; Bakery, Beverage, Dairy, Fish and Meat Products

Fragrances
Household, personal care, soaps and detergents

Spices
Whole, ground, cracked, untreated and heat treated, seasonings and bespoke formulations

DCP Direct also brings an established office in Dongguan, China. In addition to our own Internal procurement this facility will be made available to our customers for direct sourcing, traceability of goods purchased, pre shipment sampling, manufacturing and general trade within China.

We intend to assist clients by operating a unique ‘one stop shop’ in a range of ingredients combined with our unrivalled customer service and daily national delivery. In this way Pro Food will help contribute to an overall cost save as well as promoting and introducing new product innovation from around the world.
